Antique Bed Warmer

Copper Antique Bed Warmer with a long wooden handle.

The copper pan would have been filled with hot embers and placed in a bed in order to warm and dry it out before bedtime. This is now not advised due to the obvious fire hazard, not to mention the toxic fumes.

In modern times, a rubber hot water bottle is much more effective, and safe, to warm a bed.

But this still makes a beautiful decorative piece.
